Dimensions of the dog box
A bigger kennel is not always better, because dogs feel safer in smaller spaces. When the kennel is the right size, it helps to maintain the dog's body temperature. To measure your dog house, measure your dog's height and length. The height of the roof should be sized so that your dog can stand and sit inside the box with his head upright. The length and width of the box is determined by the dog's lying position. The length of the enclosure should be slightly longer than the dog's height and the width should be more than the width of the dog's feet in its widest lying position. This gives the dog the space it needs to sleep in its box in the position it prefers. The doorway of the box should be slightly higher and wider than the dog, so that the dog can easily get in and out of it.
